The purpose of Recreation Therapy is to enable all individuals to achieve quality of life, and optimal health through meaningful experiences in recreation and leisure. Recreation Therapy is a profession which provides service to, and advocates for individuals with physical, mental, social, behavioural or emotional limitations in a variety of settings such as hospitals, long-term care settings, day programs, community-based programs, and mental health centres. As a student in the program, you will receive a student membership with Therapeutic Recreation Ontario (TRO).
Develop facilitation practice skills while taking a course in a community RT setting.
1. High school diploma or Secondary school diploma
2. High school or Secondary school transcript of grades/marksheets
3. Language certificate (should be change on request of university)
4. Recommendation letter
6. Entrance Exam details (If there is an exam put the details for it as University shared)
OSSD or equivalent (Mohawk Academic Upgrading, GED) including:
Grade 12 English, C or U or equivalent
Grade 11 Mathematics, C, M or U level or equivalent (M or U level recommended) (It might depend according to the program)
-Successful completion of GAS-EAP (478) Program Level 8
-TOEFL minimum score of 550 (80 Internet based)
-or IELTS Academic minimum score of 6.0 overall with no band less than 5.5
