A course devoted to an in-depth analysis of the processes of managing contemporary states and societies. Students will gain knowledge and skills allowing them to properly examine the determinants of political systems at supra-state, state, regional and local levels. They will also learn about common mechanisms and trends in managing societies and communities. The presentation of contemporary ethnic conditions and histological policy will be particularly important. Students will gain the knowledge and skills necessary to analyze collective behavior - especially during elections. The nature and mechanisms of operation of contemporary media will also be in focus.
A certificate confirming the candidate’s level of English is required. A candidate whose documents confirm schooling in English, may not be required to present any additional language certificate.
The University of Lodz accepts the following English Language certificates:

– Test of an English as Foreign Language (TOEFL):
* at least 87 points in Internet-Based Test (iBT);
* at least 180 points in Computer-Based Test (CBT) supplemented with 50 points in Test of Spoken English (TSE);
*at least 510 points in Paper-Based Test (PBT) supplemented with at least 3,5 points in Test of Written English (TWE) and with at least 50 points in Test of Spoken English (TSE)
* at least 700 points in International Communication (TOEIC);
