Specialty Security Studies encompasses subjects within national and international security. Subjects in offer are dedicated to the phenomenon of security in terms of administration functioning on the local and central level. Additional focus is put on the most significant security and special forces’ tasks. There is also place for subjects dedicated to current international situation and contemporary security threats.
All the selected topics concerning security aspects are placed within three dimensions: global, national and regional. What is more, students become acquainted with different aspects of security: political, economic, military or cultural. Such multidimensional explanation of security enables all students to gain the broadest knowledge possible concerning the field of studies.
The graduates acquire knowledge concerning national security, international security system and rules of functioning of all national and international security subjects. Inclusion of elements of social science in the educational process, especially in the field of defensive capability and political science together with humanities and jurisprudence, allows graduates to acquire broad knowledge that will allow them to identify, describe and to prevent both military and marital threats.
What is more, graduates will be familiar with the procedures of crisis management. Completing the educational process provides necessary competences, abilities and skills required from the central and local administration’s employees, especially within crisis response and management units. It also gives opportunity to work in international and non-governmental organizations, diplomatic and consular posts, corporations on positions of risk assessment and in the institutions within state’s protective and defensive structures
A certificate confirming the candidate’s level of English is required. A candidate whose documents confirm schooling in English, may not be required to present any additional language certificate.
The University of Lodz accepts the following English Language certificates:

– Certificate of Proficiency in English (CPE),
– Business English Certificate (BEC) Vantage,
– Business English Certificate (BEC) Higher,
– Certificate in English for International Business and Trade (CEIBT),
– English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL),
– International English Language Testing System (IELTS) more than 6 points;
– Test of an English as Foreign Language (TOEFL):
* at least 87 points in Internet-Based Test (iBT);
* at least 180 points in Computer-Based Test (CBT) supplemented with 50 points in Test of Spoken English (TSE);
*at least 510 points in Paper-Based Test (PBT) supplemented with at least 3,5 points in Test of Written English (TWE) and with at least 50 points in Test of Spoken English (TSE)
* at least 700 points in International Communication (TOEIC);
